     Back                                Maintenance Includes

 

1.                  The company will provide all supplies, maintenance, and cleaning and associated services on the aquarium at the customer’s place of business or residence. All fish are at the risk of the customer (unless specially noted otherwise) and will be replaced as soon as possible when they die. If exact replacement fish are in inventory then this will normally take place on the next scheduled maintenance visit. If they are not available at that time, the customer may choose to wait for a like replacement or to take another specimen which is both similar and compatible with the remaining aquarium inhabitants. Customer must notify the company of any fish deaths in order to provide replacements on the next scheduled visit.

 

2.                  Items included in the maintenance program are water analysis testing, required water change, vacuum gravel, substrate, check, adjust, clean and/or replace air stones and airlines, filtration and cleaning materials and all related procedures. Routine maintenance will be preformed on a                                      basis. Subsequent fish, filters, and decorations purchases will be available and will be billed on a separate invoice. There are no guarantees on livestock. All fish provided by the company are quarantined for a minimum of two weeks before introducing them into the aquarium. This helps to ensure that a healthy tropical environment is maintained at all times.

 

3.                  The company will be liable for its own actions limited to the value of the equipment and contents and/or water damage caused by spillage during maintenance. The customer will be responsible for any liability arising from carelessness, negligence, theft or vandalism caused by anyone on the premises, including but not limited to, customers employees, patrons or visitors. In the event of a catastrophe, such as an earthquake, fire, flood or similar event, the customer’s property insurance should be liable for the loss of the aquarium.

 

4.                  The customer will make known to the company any and all janitorial activities that may have an environmental effect on the aquarium. For example, use of ammonia based cleaners and fumigants may be harmful or fatal to the fish environment. The customer will also ensure that neither the janitorial staff nor any employee performs any cleaning or maintenance on any part of the aquarium unless specifically requested and authorized by the company. An example exception would be if food or drink is spilled on the side of the aquarium, it can be rinsed off with plain tap water and a dry towel.

 

5.                  The company cannot control all circumstances relating to aquarium maintenance such as a local or citywide power outage. There is cause for alarm if the power is lost for more than one hour. In the event of a prolonged power outage, the company my not be able to reach many customers, especially if it is due to severe weather conditions. If fish are lost during this type of situation, the company will restore the aquarium to its original likeness at no profit to itself. The customer is responsible for providing adequate power at all times to maintain normal aquarium operation. If customer fails to do so, resulting in fish loss, the customer will be responsible and billed for the replacement of livestock. The company will not profit from losses incurred due to a power outage, fish will be replaced at company’s actual cost.
